We start each video tutorial with a RAW picture file, as seen below, and learn the skills to turn it into something like the picture above. Using the tools provided in programs such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop we can take the image our camera gives us, add some imagination, and produce something amazing.

Here is what the pictures above looked like before applying the post processing skills learned in these tutorials. Keep in mind these are the exact pictures you will be provided with your download. We then thoroughly teach you the skills to turn it into something like the results above.

Last Words of Advice

The content contained in these tutorials is by no means easy to learn, it took us hours to put these techniques together, let alone learn them for the first time. The tutorials do clearly provide you with all of the skill sets you will need to post process some amazing star photos along with each photographers thought process behind the skills taught and used. Do not get discouraged, instead learn as much as you can and continue to learn until you are happy with the results. Over time these techniques will become second nature and you can start to tweak the different methods and allow them to easily integrate into your own work flow:) Keep in mind there is no right or wrong way to process a picture!  Along with these tutorials, we highly recommend the content provided in the links below.

( Dave Recommends these actions, but they are not required for his tutorial. )
I personally recommend buying Tony Kuyper's Luminosity Mask Actions which I use to process every one of my shots. I will show you how to make these masks in the tutorial, but his actions are an added bonus everyone should have AFTER taking the tutorials and I even provide you with a quick rundown of how they work at the end of my video tutorial. Just click on the "Special Offers Link" at the top of Tony's Page.

from www.DaveMorrowPhotography.comRead the full blog post -->http://www.davemorrowphotography.com/2014/05/painted-in-sky-lost-lake-oregon.htmlI've been wanting to get up to Lost Lake to shoot the Milky Way for a while now. After a few failed attempts in the past with clouds covering the sky I finally got a few shots I liked this past weekend. There were intermittent clouds, so I waited and waited and waited until the Mount Hood ( approx 11,000 feet ) and the Milky Way were visible to click off my shutter. In this photo I really wanted to convey the soft light and color tones that the stars leave on the water and surrounding landscapes when there is not much ambient city light to ruin the scene. After standing there long enough, and letting your eyes adjust, the stars twinkle brightly in the water.Thoughts, critique and comments always welcome! This is a single exposure processed in Lightroom & Photoshop.
